Hi
There is a vase on ebay at the moment titled "Stunning large "Vasart" signed vase 20cm tall" which shows a "Vasart" signature. This signature looks a little different to others I have seen with the "a" having a crossover and the signature appearing slightly narrower.
I know Catherine Ysart, Vincent's wife, used to acid etch the flowing script signature and I was wondering if, in the absence of Catherine, someone else at the factory carried out this operation?
Any comments please.

Sorry, I can't give any info about the exact signature, but I don't think the vase could be anything other than Vasart, and I can't see that there would be much profit in adding such a mark to an unmarked one, so why would anybody bother?
It looks mostly right, not a complete blooper!

Catherine was clear that only she did the sigs, with a brush. Looks like a perfectly OK sig too, there can be a lot variation in these.

Hi
Thanks for all your comments - clearly this is a good looking Vasart vase.
Cheers

I know you were very priviledged to meet and talk with Catherine, Frank, but I have met two women who both claimed to have signed Vasart items whilst they worked at the factory.
Could this be possible, given Catherine's ascertion?

Of course it could, never believe 100% in the horses mouth.

I fully agree. Just wanted to clarify your earlier statement .... and how you felt about it, so thanks Frank :)
