I recently bought this amber coloured glass vase and despite much research i have been unable to identify it. It is 8.5 inches high and 9 inches wide. Any info much appreciated.

Do you have a pic of the base and top rim???...what is the thickness of the piece???...this a stunning piece...i was thinking scandanavian...but i would of thought a piece like this it would have been signed!!!...the colouring i cannot place...

did much research include Blenko?

That was my first thought as well for somewhere to start looking. A brief google later, see the second picture here. (http://www.blenkocollectors.com/collectionspages/blenkocollcollectionstexas1.htm) It looks like it's missing a lid. You might like to contact someone from the Blenko Collectors' Society to find out further details (model number, range, dates made, designer, colour).

Ah yes, it is missing the stopper! Pg 62 of Blenko Glass by Leslie Pina has a picture of an Italian copy of Husted design 6310. May not be Blenko.
-
Are the Italian copies marked though, and also thicker?
-
Husted is known to have worked for Empoli so the word "copy" may be out of place....

In the book it has been described of as a lighter weight, moulded bottom instead of ground and no pontil mark. Interestingly though, some decanters they made later in the 70's, such as the 7323 and 7412 have a similar type of tangerine colour to tinsixnines. I love the tangerine colour from Blenko.
