Title: Apparent Whitefriars Vase? Nothing I've seen before! ID = Unknown, FORGED MARK
Post by: twistergbs on November 14, 2009, 11:37:44 AM
A friend of mine recently bought this vase on the understanding that it was Whitefriars and fair enough it is signed/etched "James Powell 6132-3" It's 9 inches high. However having been collecting Whitefriars for many years I have never come across any signed pieces and cannot find any reference to this piece. Can anybody enlighten me as whether it is a James Powell piece and what age it might be?
Thanks to you all!

Does anyone recognise the writing? I wonder whether it's from the batch of missigned pieces that was sold through eBay a while back or whether someone new has a dremmel?

The style of signature is very similar to that on this mis-signed Wedgwood decanter that I recently got caught out with...
