Title: Leaping salmon mark

Am i correct in saying the Leaping salmon mark was Strathearn ? and..does that help me date the piece ?

Not used on the earliest pieces because the glass was too thin, the glass was thickened to support it... but when they stopped using it, no idea.

I have seen people mistake the IOW flame logo for the leaping salmon .

Sorry i didnt want to scare you but a friend of mine bought a couple of ebay knowing they were fairly rare IOW pieces listed as Strathearn he got bargains .jp :-[

no need to be sorry..i would rather check it than make an error..as i know nothing about Strathearn or IOW..espexcially as i have it listed ! A nice bright piece but orange is not my colour ! Makes me look all pale and uninteresting ! (well more than usual)..lol

The IOW mark shows here with typical examples that get listed as Strathearn.

The main source of this misattribution is that the IOW mark is in print as Strathearn here:

thanks for those links Frank..very handy to see the difference..i cant put a pic of the base up its not clear enough, but i can clearly see the fish mouth/eye !
will add pic of vase itself thou..if it works !
