I have dug out the most pathetic looking ashtray from one of my boxes. It says Pina Leon Limoges. Frosted/satin clear.
Does anyone know who or what Pina Leon is. ie A drink? A person? An area?
-
do you really want us to believe this is glass?
-
Could it be Leon Limoges the French firm? Pina could be the last name of the person who designed the bowl or painted it. Mid 19th Century till...i am not sure if or when they closed. I thought it was mostly ceramics! Just a wild guess margi. :-[

It is definately glass Ivo without a doubt.
-
Was having a still asleep moment this morning it is Kina Leon not Pina
-
awl right, Kina is the fortified wine which was so popular with our grandparents, Limoges is the porcelain city and the pressed glass was made by one of the advertising ashtray producers - maybe Duralex.
-
And you might just find that it is uranium glass if you shine a UV light on it. It might not be as well
-
Thanks Ivo suspected advertising just wasn't so sure thats why I suggested drink. Christine, I shall try the UV when I locate it I have put it somewhere safe - now where do I put it.

Not UV
