I just picked this up. do you reckon it's S&W, Welz or some other maker?

Hi, I spent a couple hours last night looking for a website or collector site that might have some of hte typical kinds of glass patterns for the northwood pull up machine type glass. I found a few examples on live auction but for the most part it seems to be a wasteland. does anyone have any direction? I just ordered the hajamach book.

Hello,I've just gone through the 'old' Hajdamach book and Truits victorian glass and have yet to see anything with that pattern,I'll look some more but some one will recognise it I'm sure,Keith.

I agree it's some sort of pull up decoration, a mechanical variation on threading, but I, too, could not find anything even similar in the 'old' Hajdamach.  Don't have the new one, but wouldn't expect it there, too old. Wish I'd found it, though.

Bah, I had remembered that welz had done a similar type glass and it had been mentioned to me that welz was likely, but I hadn't looked at the truitts book since buying this. Going off of a memory between the two patterns I'd say they were a strong match and if that weren't enough that strange foot on this vase is also matched on one they show in the truitts book. I'd say it's Probably a 95% chance of being Welz. I just had it in my head that this type of thing was most likely English.
