Title: who spells the word as 'TCHECOSLOVAGUIE'

the piece is quite unremarkable  -  a 1930's style pale green u. vase (minus the grid/flower support unfortunately) - with weak response to the torch.    However, my reason for posting is that I had not previously seen this spelling of the word Czechoslovakia.   Is this how it was/is spelled in that part of eastern Europe??  -  oddly, I cud find little on the web to help.   Sorry, but the pics are in reverse - didn't work as well the other way round.    Apologies if I seem a bit thick on this one, and may be I need help from across the channel possibly  -  My thanks to all for looking.    cheers      Paul S.

Export mark for the French market in the 1930s - possibly via the large French distributor Markhbein.

TCHECOSLOVAQUIE I also think the G is a stylised Q, which makes much more sense for French spelling.

sincere thanks to both of you  -  am just starting to get over a bad bout of 'flu - and think the brain has died a bit also.   Believe that pieces with this origin/spelling must be uncommon in my neck of the woods - as sure I hadn't seen one before - plenty of pieces saying simply CZECHOSLOVAKIA, which most of us come across.   Thanks Ivo, and I have looked again at the G, and wud agree that Christine may have a point - in that the 'spur' does tend to stick out at an angle in the way that we might show this on our Q.   So agree that wud certainly make it look French.    cheers   Paul S.
