This charming owl has a Viking Glass sticker on the underside. I have found no references to this piece online. Any information would be appreciated, including date and scarcity (I've never seen another). It's definitely in the Murano style. I'm wondering if these were imported by Viking from Italy.

Many of the Viking Glass pieces are Murano-like in style. The piece was most likely made in West Virginia and not imported. The WV art glass facilities, e.g. Viking and Pilgrim, made many of the animal figurines in the 20th Century. I am not sure but I believe the pieces date from the middle 20th Century, maybe the 1060s when these animals were very popular trinkets.

They are from Pilgrim or Rainbow or Kanawha because they put stuff into the Viking & later the Dalzell-Viking outlets which were the largest in WV & Ohio. Viking & Dalzell Viking made animals from molds from the early 40's up until closing (DV) in June 1998. Pilgrim, Rainbow & Kanawha glass companies free blew animals. Ken
