Title: In situ examples of primatic paving tiles/vault lights, and museum collections
Post by: Elizabeth Kelly on December 26, 2009, 11:46:34 PM
Greetings all, I am wishing to travel to Europe from Australia in the next year to research historic and contemporary architectural cast and pressed glass and am requesting recommendations of best museum collections, and existing examples of glass in situ to study and compare. I am scheduled to close down studio mid next year and see this as a good opportunity for professional development providing I can seek out best examples in a relatively short time frame and with limited budget but huge sense of curiosity.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Several are mentioned on this forum but best go ask Ian Macky who can probably tell you more than anyone.

Thanks Frank, I have read Ian Macky's site with great interest, and will contact him directly. However I am also after more contemporary examples of cast and pressed elements in architecture and public art specifically in Europe.

For Scotland my booklet may help there. Link (http://www.scotlandsglass.co.uk/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=109:directory-booklet-2010&catid=38:books&Itemid=7) There should be plenty to see in Scotland.
