I bought these two items together recently they seem to come from a similar source due to the decoration and feel of them although i cant be sure? Both have been lightly made with the taller glass having a stag much of the gold leaf has rubbed off with a frosted background. The small pitcher has a small boating scene which appears to have been sratched through the ruby decoration. Im sure there not very exciting but i just couldnt put a country of manufacture or makers name Also would love idea of age? can anyone help also both have the remnents of where they were made to there bases not a true pontil but something slightly different. :hiclp:

The smaller of the two is classic "Egermann" decoration - named for the Bohemian decorator who produced much of this kind of work. The taller glass is very likely to be Bohemian too. As for date, probably both are twentieth century, though the smaller glass could be nineteenth century. Is there much wear on the bases?

Hi thanks for your reply!! Due to the light-ness of the glass i was quite suprised at the amount of wear on the bases i will try and post a picture asap of them. Egerman ive seen some of the fantastic work produced i would say these must be a cheaper copy for the mass/market going by the quality? thanks nice to know someone else thinks they are bohemium :hiclp:

Oh and on the original question, I am reliably informed that the ruby flashed pieces date 1860-80.

Pieces are Bohemian, I would date those to beginning of last century. I suppose that nobody is able to identify the producer becouse at that time existed in Haida (NovĂ˝ Bor) region many homeworks producing this type of engraved decoration.
Typical "Egermann" decoration looks slightly diffeerent, see http://www.egermann.cz/?go=products&lang=en
