Title: Blue vase, with wonky lip and slight iridescence
Post by: jenxy on January 01, 2010, 11:47:37 AM
I bought this item a week before christmas from a charity shop. I put candles in it for the christmas table and everyone said it looked beautiful. I sparked a right old debate however when I said I would probably take it to another charity shop when I was done with it.
First to chirp in was nanna.... she said it "looked like it could be very old and I should be in a hurry to give it away" Then we all started to try and guess how old,  and from what part of the world it is from...then we decided to put £2 in each to have a guess. My guess is that it was made in the 60's... everyone else's guess was much older then that.
It is very heavy, the base has been ground flat and there is some wear to it. The lip looks wonky and the irridescence is quite subtle.
Does anyone here know anything about it? I would be very grateful for any links to somewhere that may be able to help.
Thanks for taking the time to read, and Happy New Year.

Welcome to the board. Your pictures are way too big to see, so I have resized them and attached them

Sorry about that... I don't have a clue how to resize pics, I just upload them to tinypic and post code.
Thanks for making them smaller.
