Title: Speckled/Swirled Hand Blown Art Glass Bowl
Post by: dorian_graye on January 01, 2010, 06:46:28 PM
I'm not sure what to think about this bowl.  It appears to be hand made with a polished pontil and a ground base.  It measures approx. 15.24 cm. tall and has a rim that is approx. 20 cm. in diameter.  I'm not sure if it's a contemporary piece, as there isn't much wear to the base.  Maybe it's been taken well care of.   The polished pontil is matte.  I know that generally this type of pontils are associated with asian pieces, but is that always the case?  Any suggestions?

dorian,
only suggestions. It looks fairly recent. Its a nice bowl, i would think if a studio or scandi piece,
it would have been given a mark or signature. My guess is Handmade, Eastern Europe or Asian.
