Post by: andy666 on January 02, 2010, 12:21:49 PM
I wonder if you will be able to help in the identification of this bowl please.

The bowl is lime green in colour ? It also has controlled bubbles and also a polished pontil . The bowl is heavy !

The measurments for the bowl are :
height : 4.5"
diamiter : 8"

Andy hi
It's very difficult to see the bowl against a dark background.  Maybe a pic or a couple on a white background might help, and showing the base of the bowl?  That can be very helpful.
Sorry I can't help more but it is a very pretty piece.  I would have bought it if I'd seen it :)

Hi, the pictures are far to large need re-sizing it's hard to get it in perspective when it's bigger than the conservatory lol,  controlled bubbles could be Whitefriars but really hard to tell from the photos

Whitefriars certainly had a range of bowls with controlled bubbles although I haven't managed to ID this one in their catalogues as yet.
Another possibility is Webb glass. They tended to have an acid etched backstamp on or around the ground pontil and are sometimes difficult to spot without the magnifying glass. It might be worth checking for that.
