Title: Neodymium vases, Czech? Cut? Desna?
Post by: Cathy B on January 07, 2010, 04:22:10 AM
Would anyone like to comment on the origins of these two vases (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120510768770&_trksid=p2761.l1259)? They appear to be brand new, have no seams, no base ware, beautifully polished rims and concave bases. They look blown and the windows look cut and fire polished to me.

They are marked "28% LEAD CONTENTS" (sic). I presume brand new and Czech? Desna? Not in the current range that I can see, but older maybe?

Or could it be pressed and fire polished really well?

Not Sklo Union at all and does not look like Desna, see http://preciosaornela.com/desna-glass_cz/www/products.php

I am not sure with Czech origin.

Thank you, Jindrich! :kissy:  I've seen another similar now.

It's the "28% LEAD CONTENTS" that has me stumped. Perhaps they're Chinese?

Hi Cathy,
Wanted to post about these last night, but was just too tired. I thought that they were Chinese too. They are getting to be very clever glass makers, IMHO.  :kissy:

Thanks, Della!  :kissy: That would fit. That finish is ^&% impressive.
