Title: WHITEFRIARS?
Post by: Otis Orlando on January 09, 2010, 09:23:17 PM
This vase measures 14.4cm in height. Top measures 3.4cm in width. The bottom measures 4.3cm. I have been informed that the colour is willow or possibly pewter. The Picture quality does not give it justice. To the eye I would say it is grey.  I would also like to know as to whether it is Whitfriars or not.  3/4 rings can be seen on the base of the vase that gives this ripple effect.

Hi Otis, the way you've described the base is wrong for Whitefriars although this does look like a WF bark vase.  It's very hard to see any detail in your base image (too blurry) could you try taking some photos again but using the Macro setting on your camera (usually denoted with a little symbol of a flower) so we can see what you mean when you say it has rings on it.  Thanks.

I have tried to use the Macro settings as suggested and unfortunately I am unable to get a very good picture of the base.  Please feel free to look at the additional attached pics.  Otis

This is perfectly OK.......and was given the thumbs up on the IS IT section on .com BEFORE it appeared on this forum....so not sure why an ID has been requested here too! The only issue was regarding the colour by Otis.  It looks Sage on the photo but he said it looked more grey!.  Can't help there if the photo shows one thing and he says it is another! ;D

Could it be Pewter?  I believe Pewter is notorious for picking up any nearby colour!
