I have attached photos of cups that I have acquired. In total there are 5 yellow and one blue. I have been informed that they have uranium in them. The glass cups are very light in weight and have a ribbon pattern around each one. Also around the cups are stars of different sizes and the shape of the moon. They look and feel very old. Each cup has two lines running from top to bottom on opposite sides. The ribbon effect and pattern designs stand prominent. The cups are not symetrical. looking directly at the base of the cups it can be identified that the pontil is not directly in the centre and each cup has a different variation of this. On the base of the cups there is information that reads: ASTRO BEIGA DEPOSE. I have searched the internet for any clues as to the origin and estimation of current value. Can anyone assist me. Many thanks!

No reply option ??
Are you sure on the inscription? It should be Belgia Depose.
Try taking pic from a little further away so your camera can focus.

That's because this topic and two previous ones have been posted in the wrong forum Frank. They should be in Glass, not Reference Websites. This one is now also being moved and OP informed.

Hi! Many thanks for your comments. I can assure you that it is either BELCA or BELGA. There is no "I" on any of the bases of the cups. I am unable to take a detailed picture as the cups are very clear and unable to get the right lighting effect. I can provide more information as to the size, which measures 9.6cm in height and the top 5.6 in width and the base 3.9cm. - Otis

It should be Belge Depose, which is French for Belgian filed, i.e., Belgian registered mark

Thanks! for that info. I still would like to know who made them and what the current value is on them. I Would certainly be grateful if anyone can let me know. - Otis

Thanks! Ann for redirecting my topics. Still new to this and trying to get myself around it. LOL

If you have access to a scanner you will get a better base shot.

Unfortunatley Frank, I do not have immediate access to a scanner but will in future take on board your advice. Thanks! for that. Otis

Could be the name of the design Astro Belga = Belgium star or star belgium
-
Thanks! for the info. Sue, I will investigate further. Once again, many thanks!

I am not having much joy in identifying these cups. Could anyone help in finding the originator.

Have you loked at Belgian glass companies? There aren't that many

I have Christine, but will do a more thorough search and let you know if anything comes up. Thanks for your message.

This site might help: http://www.hogelandshoeve.nl/ - and even if it doesn't it's worth bookmarking for future reference. ;)
