I bought this bowl a few years ago and just thought it was Murano glass at the time.
Once I started searching for other pieces and reading this board :D I came to think it wasn't - but then for some reason having read about Chalet and Chrbska a long while back, came down on the side of Chrbska and forgot about it. However, since I am actually trying to attribute my pieces properly ;D I thought I would ask for some help on this one as I am now totally confused having read lots of posts :spls: It is 16cm wide by 10cm high and weighs....a LOT.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated please.
many thanks

I have just seen Jindrich's reply to this thread - I may have to go and search and read more widely?

I'm fairly sure that this isn't Chalet either.

Hi friends
this is Chribska 155/5/16, designed probably by Josef Hospodka in 60ties but fabricated for many years.

Jindrich,
That foot style seems to be very characteristic of Chribska - would that be true, or do other makers have use distinctive four-lobed foot as well?
-
Hi Cathy,
this is very Chribska piece, you are true. But I cannot anwer to you if simmilar foot had not been used in another factories abroad. Here in Czechoslovakia/Czech republic it was only Chribska with this style of glass. ZBS, Mstišov or Skrdlovice pieces look slightly different.

Hi Cathy,
Joska made (or still make?) vases, which could easily be mistaken for Chribska pieces:
Joska vase (http://cgi.ebay.de/Schwere-Kristallvase-Joska-Kristall-Bodenmais-NEU-OVP_W0QQitemZ360120727555QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDe_Haus_Garten_GedeckterTisch_Glaswaren_Geschirr?hash=item53d8de3803)
-
Hi Dirk,
are you sure that this is really Joska piece?
I have browsed briefly www.joska.com and it seems to me that they do not produce anything simmilar.
Isn't it wrong attribution of eBay seller only?
The vase looks reallz like recent pruction of Rubin or Egermann (followers of Chribska)

Hi Jindrich,
the seller states he still has the original packing; he also has a bowl in the same colour scheme
with a Joska label:
Joska bowl (http://cgi.ebay.de/Schwere-Kristallschale-Joska-Kristall-Bodenmais-NEU_W0QQitemZ360151859247QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDe_Haus_Garten_GedeckterTisch_Glaswaren_Geschirr?hash=item53dab9402f)
Here´s a finished auction with another Joska labelled vase:
Joska vase II (http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260528797339&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.de%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m38.l1313%26_nkw%3D260528797339%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1)
I suppose they simply don´t have problems with producing items, which bear a strong resemblance
to other glassworks´ designs - least to say. :-X ;)
Joska facet cut vase (http://cgi.ebay.de/Joska-Waldglashuette-Bodenmais-Kristall-Vase-Handarbeit_W0QQitemZ320463829890QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGlas_Kristall?hash=item4a9d21fb82)
Joska aventurine vase (http://cgi.ebay.de/30-cm-Hohe-Schwarzglas-Vase-mit-Kupferaventurin-v-Joska_W0QQitemZ110453078495QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGlas_Kristall?hash=item19b78439df)
Of course there´s still a chance the labels are incorrect; what do you think - especially concerning
the colours?

Thank you for all your replies.
Jindrich, many thanks for giving the catalogue number and possible designer. I really appreciate it very much.
I had thought it was Chribska but for some reason now I am searching again I have found it difficult to find pictures on the net - not sure why? I did also look though the ones Marcus posted as well but couldn't see anything the same so started to query my memory.

Well Dirk, the bowl does not look like Chribska at all, seems to me that I am in troubles, now I must study Joska >:(
Thank you very much for links.

Hi Jindrich,

Thank you Dirk,
now I am really unsure if this is really original Joska production or the re-distribution Chribska pieces only uder the different label.
