Only 3 ins high, polished pontil, colour reminds me of a Webbs piece I have but not the pattern around the base and sides, stumped again, help,Keith.
-
Maybe Stevens and Williams? or just a shot in the dark?Keith.
-
Somebody say something,pleeeeeeease,
Keith.
-
I'd guess no-one can tell you anything at the mo, Keith. It's not a piece I recognise (but that's not saying much!) Give it a couple of days and see if someone can add something more. You might have (temporarily) stumped us! ;D
-
Sorry, don't mean to be pushy,it's such a beautiful colour and the moulded base is so distinctive I was sure someone would recognise it,must be more patient,Keith.
-
It look like Stevens & Williams (Grotesque) range bowl designed by Frederick Carder.
-
Thanks Ming will look that up,tried out Harborne today, got a couple of pieces and saw a small amber 'hammered' hanky bowl in Blackheath but it was chipped and they wanted a fiver for it!
Keith.

Thanks again, will have to try and get one of those books, emailed the Corning Museum will post any replies,Keith.
-
Got reply from Corning they don't think it's the grotesque range,so any ideas?please,Keith.
-
It's not a Steuben Grotesque, but that doesn't mean it's not Stevens and Williams and a pre-Steuben design. Frederick Carder will have taken his ideas with him to the USA.
-
That's what I thought,I believe there is a book on Carder,his designs etc...,will try and get a copy,Keith.
