Hi! I recently purchase a bowl from the charity shop and have a feeling that it may be Whitefriars. I can't be sure on this. The bowl measures approx. 7cm in height. The longest point of bowl at the top measures 14cm and the smallest width at widest point 11cm. The bowl is designed with air bubbles that are symmetrical and run diagonally. Thebowl is a light shade of green and heavy for it's size. The pontil is concaved and measures 3cm, however, around the pontil is a flat base that is oval in shape and at the longest point measures 3.8cm and the shortest side is 3.2cm. The concave pontil is off centred to this. I have not seen this before so am not sure if this piece would come under Whitefriars. Could anyone assist me in locating the origin of the beautiful piece?

Thanks! for your speedy response. Did not give me time to ammend my spelling. :24:Keith. I will try that. It certainly is an usual looking bowl and I am certain it is old as there appears to be a lot of wear and tear around the concaved pontil. The pics. are not too clear on this.

I had one of these in Orange years ago. Horrid thing! Thankfully I was able to sell it. The nearest I can come to id'ing this is either really bad Murano, Chinese or Japanese. I might even give the Japanese some leeway on this and say Chinese. :spls:

Definitely not Whitefriars, and I tend to agree with Kane
