Title: Controlled Bubble Art Glass Perfume? Bottle
Post by: jotz34 on November 09, 2005, 11:59:44 AM
Hi, I was hoping I could get an idea as to a possible maker for this 7.5 inch tall bottle. Also, since it has a clear (hard to see in photo) immersed bubble would this be considered sommerso?? Thanks very much.

Sommerso, as I understand it, refers to cased glass, when a lighter colour is applied over a darker one to give a 'halo' effect. Like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7362919393
Lovely controlled bubble bottle, though.  :)

I'm thinking Erickson or dare I say it, Pairpoint.
Our US glass experts will be along later no doubt but meantime search on those at Ebay for similar.

What struck me on this one is that is not executed to the best standards of craftsmanship but it does play well aesthetically. So perhaps the work of a studio artist.
