Title: Caithness Irish Shamrock

I have what I think is a Caithness Commissioned Weight "Irish Shamrock" designed by Alan Scott. However, it must be a second since there is no inscription on the base, or did this not have to happen with commissioned weights. Neither is there the usual C11G etched on the base. Instead there is a rather crude attempt to scratch C11G. Would this have been done by Caithness or is there some other explanation. The weight looks magnificent with no obvious flaws that I can see.

It's an early second. Sometimes they are scratched CIIG. I have an etched CIIG one that doesn't have the swirl in the green, otherwise it's the same

This design was usually faceted. I don't think they facetted seconds. This one might have been a second because of the teeny weeny bubble on one of the leaves. I think it looks like a tiny dew drop. Pretty little paperweight.

I have one similar (also a second), except the ground is a solid green. I like them better unfacetted.
