Title: Multi coloured Swirl Paperweight from where?
Post by: zidori on February 03, 2010, 06:48:33 PM
This is a lovely paperweight, rich colours and the glass looks and feels good quality. My initial thoughts were Chinese or perhaps Indian but obviously do not really know. Can anyone help with identification, please?

The large, flat, polished base says "Murano" to me.  The design, however, is not what I am use to seeing.  Perhaps modern Murano, maybe made on another continent?  The colors are certainly bright and cheery!  I bet it brightens up any spot you put it in.

Enjoy ..... Lily :)

Your thoughts are the same as mine. The pwt looks like it was made in the spirit of Fratelli Toso's smelze pwts. This makes me think either Chinese or fairly contemporary Italian, though I know there are other possibilities.
