I need some help on this one please.
I have searched quite extensively on the net and through my books (which admittedly are still fewish and probably not the right ones :) ) but I don't know really where I should be looking :-\
This is 10" tall, has 12 ribs which are very defined and definite on the outside and can still be felt on the inside but much less so. The base has a polished pontil with a spiral pattern on it as though the ribs started on the base and has loads of wear to it. Quite lightweight and delicate feel to it.
Your input would be much appreciated ;D as I am now totally stumped on where to look next.
Many thanks

It looks like a late 19C, early 20C piece and it could be British or from almost anywhere really. It was blown into a dip mould, then possibly blown again outside the mould to get the desired size, then the base was flattened on the marver, and it then it was attached to a pontil iron to shape the top.

:hiclp: thank you so much for the interesting information Christine.
It's not my usual cup of tea but I like the shape. My guess was possibly English (not sure why) and 40's/50's (based on the shape) so I was a long way out there. I'll keep my eye out for earlier pieces and widen my search.
Many thanks
