Title: Looks like a square gulvvase by Holmegaard but it is not. Any ideas?
Post by: ahremck on February 06, 2010, 06:33:00 AM
I originally thought this vase was Holmegaard Palet or Gulvase.  However I find that no Holmegaard has a squarish base.   Ergo it is not Holmegaard.  Anyone have an idea who made it and when.  No markings on the base.

I have bumped this vase - it bugs me that I can't seem to get a line on who might have made it.

Looks Italian to me.

Italian - would that mean one of the Empoli factories?  I really like the Empoli with clean lines and pure 60s or 70s design, but can't stand the 70s-faux-Victorian frilly stuff. (Does anyone know what I mean  :)?)
