Title: Chribska Vase
Post by: 2ndhandDesign on February 08, 2010, 06:05:07 AM
Hi. Picked this up today, don't know much about this stuff,  is it by Josef Hospodska? 33cm High.

In the absence of other replies, I'll say that it looks like Chribska to me, but not a design I know. Unsure about Hospodska. Unusual that it is marked like that. I presume that the numbers are 1414, the year in which Chribska was founded and the date you see on the label. There is a great deal of later, Czech Republic Chribska around right now.

Hello! 1414 is the date of the Chribska factory being started, most labels say Chribska 1414 for this reason. According to Jindrich this is a 1960's vase. Jindrich has a website which now has several Chribska catalogues on it through picasa  www.webareal.cz/ceskesklovenskesklo/ that help identification of Chribska glass, there are some designs from Chribska that are very high quality glass indeed.
