I have been told that this could be Thomas Webb.
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks

Hi Khan31cat,
Its a nice and very striking glass, i dont think Webb did anything like this, someone may correct me on that, it looks more like a Studio piece, or maybe one of the Murano factories.
I presume youve just got the one ! A set would be nice! Shame its not signed ::)

It's a very nice glass. I would look at Italy, either Murano or one of the Empoli factories, or perhaps at Stevens and Williams. Webb seems unlikely

I agree with Nigel but he hasnt said yet and i dont want to steal his thunder . ;D ;) about 1920 ;)

Oh well i cant wait any longer for Nigel , i feel they are possibly Steuben by Fredrick Carder ,i believe Nigel thinks along the same lines and he is one smart fella...! Oh and they came from the USA .

I have a question regarding the underside of the stem. Is there a pontil on this piece? A picture of the underside would be great.
I am also curious as to the height.
Although I can find in the line drawings a couple of pieces of Steuben stemware that were done with a similar stem, none of the designs have a bowl like this piece has..
Also, it is quite difficult to tell from the picture, but the bowl color does not seem quite right for Steuben to me.....

The glasses are 5 1/2 inches and 6 1/6 inches tall. We have enclosed a couple more photographs, one showing the base with a polished pontil.

HI, I will go through my Steuben line drawings again, but I do not think I missed the shape... They are absolutely gorgeous pieces which I love, but I am currently of the opinion, at the moment, that they are not Steuben....
I will let you know either way about locating the shape in the drawings or not...
They have a Steubenesque feel to them, so the suggestion of Stevens & Williams would be a strong contender in my book...

Many thanks to everyone for their input and ideas, but we are still not sure where we are yet.

After going to the Cambridge Glass Fair, it was pointed out that the large glass is marked Stevens and Williams on the base. So thanks to everybody for their help.
