Title: Balloon Brandy Amber ID Help?
Post by: janton77 on February 08, 2010, 10:55:20 PM
Hi all

Another balloon glass sorry, any ideas.
It's a whopping 310mm x 180.

I will not post any more of these until I have really searched high and low through the net.

Regards

I have just came across this on eBay... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370323278054&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1353wt_939 a good clue  as it has a label.

Anyone know about PORTUGAL STEPHENS glass before I google away?

Not the same - yours is lightweight Borosilicate glass made in Italy, the Portugese item has a stadard reed stem and could have been made in a number of countries.

Ivo, many thanks for the reply and I have taken photo's of all my balloon glass and I admit to being more confused than ever.
Thanks for your link and the only reference books I can find is whitefriars in regards to this type of glass, someone mentioned that my tall orange balloon glass might be Emopli http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,31460.msg170337.html#msg170337

Thanks for the reply.
