Title: FYI -- Seetusee Glassware - Vintage
Post by: antiquerose123 on February 09, 2010, 12:02:11 AM
Hi there.  Here is probably something -  that most of you have never seen.  It is called Seetusee Glassware and it was made in Manitoba, Canada years ago.  This piece posted was my parents (now deceased).  I remember it being on the coffee table when I was a kid, so I can pretty well date this from around the 1960's.  It is quite large (about 11 inches wide).  It has the most striking bright colors in it, with a bit of sparkles throughout.  I was just researching this heirloom piece here and I thought I would past this info on to you folks.  :)

Here is a bit more info, history, and other Links:

Hi Cathy (Guess I should have used the Search Button...Sorry) but then again always good to have everything archived, and have more examples and reference materials...

Thanks.

Very LARGE Seetusee Tray posted here - about 16 inches long, and 11.50 inches wide, and 1.25 inches tall.  Fully marked on back.

I just thought I would add some more examples here, as I think Sandra pics are gone from an older post.  Hope that is OK  :hi:

 :hi: there:

Please do not mind me kinda bumping this -- but I found another piece here today, so I just thought it would be nice if I kept all the patterns, colors, and numbers on the back of each piece here.  A nice resource for others too   ;D

I found this Ruffled triangular dish with blazing array of colors.  Also has some Green and Silver Flecks in it.  Marked on the back with the proper SEETUSEE ID, and the proper back being GOLD painted Pig-Skin.  About 8 inches wide, and 2 inches high at the highest point.  On the back of this one is marked with the pattern number of M 90

As I find/buy them.............Canadian Art Glass from the 60's

 :hi: there:

My Newest Seetusee find -- BLUE!

Just found this one here.  It is a divided Dish in various shades of blue, with blue and silver foil.  Nice clear mark on the back and the Model number M 5.  About 11.5 inches long, and 7.5 inches wide.

I keep finding them here (being a Canadian item....LOL) -- and just keep *adding* them to this post here, for reference!!   ;D

Also, I wanted to point out -- while trolling the Web here I found this link here:  http://www.glasfax.ca/Glass_Facts_Vol5_Issue2_SEETUSEE.pdf (http://www.glasfax.ca/Glass_Facts_Vol5_Issue2_SEETUSEE.pdf) . I believe this is our Member SID here, as I know he lists himself as a Canadian Member for Glasfax. So I thought I would also point out SID article/info/association on SEETUSEE GLASS also.

Great site there SID !!
