Title: GREEN BOWL
Post by: malcmat on February 09, 2010, 12:43:03 PM
Hi to all, This green bowl has controlled bubbles and a concave polished depression on the base which also has a ground flat spot. It stands 65 tall x 90 dia.The rim is rounded and i can feel ridges around the inside of the bowl leading from the top rim to the base.
Is it just another cheap import if so its in the glass recycle bin. lol

Hi, thanks for that, had a look through the Whitefriars cat and found something similar 1957 cat 9377             page 17  3.5 inches dia bubble encased bowl. I would expect the whitefriars quality to be smooth inside the bowl but it is not, unless someone has this piece and can or cannot feel ridges inside ??

You can certainly feel the bubbles on the inside on all the bubbled Whitefriars pieces, perhaps you are thinking ridges when it is the bubbles you are feeling?

Try looking in the whitefriars cats for 9293 as the diamiter is 3" ( if the opening on the top is 2" or less it will be 9293 ) . I have got one my self and it is exactley the same as when you look at the base it seems to be lobed and with the pontil it looks like a five leaf clover !

Hi the opening dia is 2.3/8 inches and yes it is the bubbles that i am feeling inside.
It does resemble a 5 leaf clover where it has been ground on the base.
