A very close match to my mystery ewer, see topic Burmese? ewer with enamel and gilt decoration — Id & date please (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,21013.0.html), has just come up on eBay, see Signed Webb Art Glass Ewer Pitcher - NR (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190372073168).
I've not seen this Webb signature before — what do you think? ;D
... and this seller is keyword spamming like crazy, swamping many of my standard searches. I've complained to eBay, but there's not been any improvement. If anyone reading this has a spare minute or two, please would you complain to eBay.
TIA — Bernard C. 8)

Looks a bit ropey for Webbs and it's not a signature I've ever seen,Webbs pieces are usually finished better, the decor' looks like coraline(think I've got that right)I've a few pieces similar myself and the one Burmese I do have is clearly marked Webbs. To be honest it looks like the seller scratched it on,in my opinion that is,unless it's the Bohemian Stourbridge branch of Webbs!

I am always complaining to Ebay about keyword spamming and it always falls on deaf ears but I will keep complaining until they get fed up with me and all the others and do something about it.
I have complained to them about this item.

Oh my ... I just had a look at that supposed Webb item and well ummmm :24:
What can I say? Web glass is classy glass .... this is ummm well errrr .... NOT
As for the signature I thought I was going to have to leg it to Specsavers but finally managed to firnd the spider splot purporting to be an engraved signature. Looks like someone did it wirh their diamond ring.
Oh well good luck to them if they get $100 for it. Frankly I'd be loathe to part with 50p except to buy it for the china smashing stall at the scool fete!!!

I meant ropey as in it's Webbs attribution, not as suitable material for the school fete(as someone who shall remain nameless)indicated;in fact I quite like these, here's a few of my own 'ropey's' and I did check for sig's,just in case we were all wrong!(the one in the middle is extra 'ropey')

It would make an interesting book, all of these new signatures. I really think that you people are not being fair as we clearly have another peezartist (Crikey the nanny censor is senziteev eez=iss no to GO :-X but because of zee wine I must go soon) at work and art does need to be respected. Furthermore, this adds a whole new dimension to collecting. I can see that it could also be popularised by the production of a title "dunge glass with artistic expression in squiggles". (auto censor "dunge" :P how can I market zis book if the title cannot be typioed? I zinc ze verd was sumsing like krap ) To this end I would welcome examples, particularly those created by the infamous "Chrism", whose efforts lead to this board being so popular. I will collect these into a single volume and offer advance copies with glass genuine Baccarat covers at €327.45 including postage to anywhere in the world. Payment of course via Western Union Transfers no need to send your address - please add £57.23 if you require a Dremel signed copy, $58.85 for red enamelled inlay ink option. Naturally I can also offer an lifetime subscription to on-line updates and the appropriate payment will be advised upon enquiry.
