Can anyone identify this pontil mark or even if it IS a pontil mark and not just a random pontil scar. It belongs to a very pretty jug (also pictured) and it looks like a deliberate pontil stamp to me but I've never seen this one before.

The photos are too out of focus to see but on a hunch I found this http://www.uredale.co.uk/tableware/msjugs.htm It's supposed to be a glassblower
Don't think you should really use the term pontil mark for an impressed mark. The pontil mark/scar is what is left after the pontil iron has been cracked off. It's then either left or improved in some way.

Does it look like AB ?? I think its an earlier Alum Bay piece they use to use the impressed mark the B leans onto the A type of thing
