Hi, any help on this item would be much appreciated. Is it Murano? If so, does anyone know what sort of date it was made etc. Many thanks

Oh, I forgot to say, he is just over 11 inches tall, and has a snapped off pontil. Cheers :)

These can be difficult to identify when they're not signed. Speculating -- the head of yours reminds me of the cherubs used on a Fratelli Toso fountain that we saw in another group. The company Fratelli Toso identified the fountain as being theirs when the owner wrote them. www.antiquehelper.com has these cherubs listed as Barbini -- a misattribution if Toso's claim to them is right. If anyone would like to see the cherubs, they can put "Barbini cherub" in the site's search engine. The cherubs are riding swans.
The base and legs of the figurine in this message look very Toso-like. I believe Fratelli Toso to be a good possibility for this one.

many thanks for your help, I shall now go and look up all these names as Im afraid I know very little about murano glass.
Is it allowed to ask what kind of value this piece might be? I know people often dont want to guess because it can vary :-\

Value is a hard thing to determine. The good quality pieces like these go extremely well! If you do list it on ebay though, please send me an email thats_painful_kane at yahoo . com . au to advise...so the spam bots don't get to the glass account :P...i am drooling over this piece like a puppy!!!...

I know this topic has been around for a while but I have just acquired this figurine which I think is a twin for Istenno's one but with a different set of colours and a label. From reading previous threads there seem to be different strands of thought - that the swirled base suggests Salviati; that the head/legs/base are reminiscent of Fratelli Toso, and from another site, that the leaf supporting the base suggests Seguso. I'm new to Italian figurines.....and I'm confused!
I can't find this exact label anywhere from the 'label bank' on this message board - does it help to shine a light on who the maker might have been? Or does anyone have any other ideas on this lovely lady (who is likely to find herself for sale sometime soon).

I have a Cenedese piece signed to the base (Cenedese) a Cenedese label on the side and the same gold label on the base , i know my piece is right because a friend who deals mostly in Italisn glass said so and wanted to buy , it at the time i was a collector and not selling . Maybe it was an export label ? jp I believe mine is a later piece .

I believe the label is a generic one. I've seen it on pieces from three different companies -- AVeM, Fratelli Toso, and Vistosi. Adding jp's Cenedese onto it, that would make at least four we know about.
