This is rather a large plate that measures 7cm in hight and the dia. at top 32.7cm and the base 11cm. I am not sure whether this should have a lid or not. I hope the pictures hold enough info. in order to identify this beautiful piece. Can anyone provide originator and age. Most appreciated.

Possibly French, one of the big mass-producers - Durand I think - make a whole range in this pattern. You can usually find FRANCE in *very* tiny letters somewhere between the motifs.

FRANCE, as Anne said and as photographed by you, Otis: your 00862 at 6 o'clock ;D

I can just about see the letters printed on the inside ans yes it does read FRANCE. I think I need to make an appointment at the opticians :spls: Thanks for spotting that Pamela and your help Ann]. There is so much pattern design on the plate. I will have to pay more attention for markings. Once again, thanks for your close observation and identification

Update: I've just found my note of the maker/pattern name for this one...
"Made by Duralex, pattern = Luxhem" - it was shown in the 2006 catalogue on the old Duralex website.

Hi Anne. Thanks for your information. Through the name that you have provided allowed me to find one on http://www.yobunny.org.uk/gallery1/displayimage.php?album=88&pos=117. I have not been able to find out how to access the 2006 catalogue. The bowl in question is actually known as the Royal Bowl. It would be nice if I could find out the value and age of this. Anyway thanks very much for you time and effort. Always appreciated.

Otis, that's my bowl on my personal website you found there! :hiclp:
The 2006 catalogue doesn't seem to be online anymore, and as far as I can recall there wasn't a "download it" option, just an online version. Of course, this was all before the receivership and changing ownership issues that affected Duralex shortly afterwards so the ranges have changed now.

Hi Anne, I had a funny feeling that it was your Website but then I thought it can't be. :24: You certainly do have a very good website. Would you know the current value of such a fine piece?
