Title: Holmegaard style decanter
Post by: 2ndhandDesign on February 18, 2010, 10:08:37 PM
Hi. The decanter and vase pictured are coming up as a lot in an auction here next week. The stepped vase is Kosta signed, but I was wondering about the decanter - japanese I think but not sure. Cheers

the stepped vase is worth going for; the decanter is Empoli if you're lucky, or Chinese if you're not.

Wow, never seen a bottle vase like that before. I've seen the shape but not with that design on it.

Yeah its a bit different! And big too, I imagine there will be some competition for the two on the night, but fingers crossed!

I found a comparison between three bottle vases, none seem to fit though.

Yeah its that top lip that makes me wonder. Looking at that link it would be hard to tell the difference between the holmegaard and italian decanter if it didn't have that stopper on top. cheers
