Hi does anyone have a clue to the maker and age of this glass and dish I feel it maybe Czechoslovakian but it is the first time I have come across such a raised detail on a glass ..thanks Lynn

Have a vase similar and was told it was probably Novy Bor and from the 1970's onwards,

Glass like this is commonly made in Italy, Czech Republics, and Japan. I have a difficult time judging among them after the label is removed.

This is indeed vey difficult to distinguish. There is not a great production in Japan - so it is more likely to be from Bohemia or Italy. The technique is Terzo Fuoco - as it needs to be fired three times, once for annealing the glass, once for fixing the raised enamel, and once for the gold. It requires a very close temperature control. The largest Italian maker was Barbini of Martelago - usually the decoration is a little more elegant. But indeed, Borske is the largest.
