Title: Bettina Cristall (anyone any info on them please?) and cased glass vase
Post by: flying free on March 06, 2010, 05:12:44 PM
I thought I'd share this since I'm constantly seeing cased glass referred to as Swedish or Scandinavian but none have labels, and  have never seen anything by Bettina Cristall.  I bought this for the label.
Very little comes up when searching but I did find one item (pot warmer I think :-\ ) that I think was referred to as made by Bettina Cristall.  Are they German or are they Swedish in fact? Can anyone help please?
Many thanks

Weird spelling, CRISTALL - it excludes most countries. Anyway, I think the little vase in Chinese so it may be a retail label?

Thanks Ivo.   Thought it could be.  I thought I would put it on as a reference for the future and some discussion. It annoys me that many of these vases are referred to as Scandinavian/Swedish but I rarely see a label (ok I do need to get some more reference books as well, I know :)  ).
I  have another green vase  that is the same green, the same casing going dark at the bottom and just feels as though it has come from the same place. It has the remains of a silver label on the bottom with part of the writing torn off.  The remainder reads __OM NO.1254 and for some reason I think it may have been made in Taiwan perhaps?

Just thinking things through.
Found the link I had before.

on the plus side given this link, I was also thinking - Finncristall has the 'cristall' spelt the same  :-\

However, on the contrary,  given that the Festivo candlestick was copied (Taiwan as I remember) I can imagine that pot warmers may be something that could be copied or reproduced easily.  hmmm, so Cristall Bettina still possibly Taiwan and of course it doesn't matter the variation in product (green cased v pot warmer) if it is a retail label.
