Title: Help to find out something about ruffled vase or low footed banana stand
Post by: claddagh on March 07, 2010, 05:20:18 AM
I would like to find out some information about this glass. What is this, who is maker and date. Maybe someone can recognise it and help me with ID. What kind of words I can use to make better search on-line. Thank you.

I would say it's late Victorian and probably English, given the air-trap pattern and the blue tits. Blue tits are European, which probably rules out the US, and Bohemian seems less likely with the air trap. I could wrong about everything except the period and the blue tits. Unless someone recognises the shape of the bowl, that may be all you get.

Blue tits are common in the UK but rare on the continent, where Great tits are the norm and Blue tits the exception. So more likely English than continental.

Thank you so much! What kind of use this bowl can have? It is 6" tall and almost 3" wide

Probably just for flowers or even simply as decoration.
