I just got a lovely vaselene glass vase. :) Made by Mosser of Ohio, USA. Probably from an Cambridge mold. Any comments on this company? Thanks, Bob

They are probably the worlds largest maker of reproduction glass.
I like my glass old and original. I think repros, imitations, "fantasy pieces" and downright fakes should all be lumped together as junk, but that's just my personal opinion.
mrwatch, did you buy your vaseline thinking it was old or was it presented as new glass?

I bought off of the bay. The ad did not say it was brand new or used. Just that it had an victorian look to it. I kind of thought about putting it in the antique mall but it is to new. Or that is what I told my wife. I still like it. Like a lot of glass companies thier web site says they bought the molds from several companys when they went out of business.

Mosser is just about the only large scale repro outfit left in the US. Ohio used to have two others, Guernsey in Cambridge & Summit in Ravenna, but both are long gone. Mosser got a few Cambridge molds from Summit when they closed up shop. Ken
