Title: large chunky clear glass ashtray, arty/modernist style , i think scandi V heavy

Hi all
trying to get an ID on this one. It weighs a ton, almost 2 kgs, (you could really do a bit of damage with this thing) its 13.5cms by 13.5cms, 4.5cms thick.
To me is quite arty looking, like its trying to be something else if you get what i mean.
Jon thinks its Dartington, but i really dont think it is. The glass and style to me looks and feels like scandi, but after quite a bit of hunting ive not tracked it down so far (checked through the fire & sea and smoke & ice to no avail also the usual scandi websites although highly likely ive missed it)
It has two resting places for cigarettes and a large concave for the ash (not normally my sort of thing but i do quite like it).
The base is flat with very little to no surface wear, although obviously it could have been wrapped up in tissue paper for the last 50 years... you just never know ;D.
Ive had a good search over it and no markings/signatures to be seen unfortunitly

Hi Michelle,
don´t have a clue really, but perhaps we should add german (e.g. Georgshütte, Wiesenthalhütte)
to the list of the usual suspects for this type of glass. I´ll keep an open eye.  ;) (<-one as I said)

many thanks Dirk, will keep looking too and hope for a result at somepoint... some take minutes others take years (hopefully not too many of the later my house is full to the brim as it is  ;D)

cheers Ivo  :thup:, i must admit WMF would have been one of the last places i would have thought to look, but will certainly be checking some sites now. I think i will go through all my books again tomorrow night after work and once little 'un is in bed and see if i can find something similar.
