Title: ID please - cased, enameled and ribbed glass vases
Post by: thomasandkatherine on March 16, 2010, 06:18:51 AM
I have recently bought a couple of small vases which are very unusual and I wonder whether someone can give me some assistance with an id.  They are hand made and heavy. Each has a pink glass inner shell which appears to have been enamelled over and then a nice thick ribbed flint glass layer has been applied to the outer surface.  Nice effect.  Each vase has a polished base which is slightly inverted.  I would be grateful for any assistance with manufacturer, country of manufacture and date of manufacture.

Mod: Comments about trouble with photos have now been removed.

Alison — You will need to crop, resize, and optimise your photographs to upload them here or to GlassGallery.

See topic TECHIE TIPS: Posting Pictures - Guidelines and how to (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,6522.0.html)

At the end is a link for you to download IrfanView to your PC — it's free, non-invasive, well-behaved, and comes complete with an uninstall option (always a good sign).   Once you get used to it, it's fast and powerful.   I use it all the time.

Once you have installed IrfanView, there are two tutorials there for you to obtain the results you want.

Take it step by step, and ask for help if you get stuck.

Nice one. Can we see the base. I suspect one of the better Bohemian makers, late 19th/early 20th C.

Long time, no see, Alison, welcome back
