I have two glass tumblers - same size - 3 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" across the top. One is clear and one is pink - both have opalescent designs. Can anyone identify maker and or pattern? Thanks.

The white one is Buttons and Braids, made by Jefferson Glass c. 1905, and also by Fenton after 1910. The other is L G Wright's version of Daisy & Fern, C. 1950.

Thanks. How can you tell it is LG Wright and not Northwood?

In my judgement, the fern patterns look different. Wright looks heavier than the Northwood. Verify this with precise measurements. Northwood is 3 11/16" tall, Wright is 3 15/16" tall

It is 3 5/8" tall.

Actually, it is 3 11/16 - I guess it is Northwood. Thanks.

There's a similar Daisy & Fern tumbler in Heacock & Gamble Book 9, 1987, item 306 p.101, which is described (p.47) as a reproduction by Fenton for L.G. Wright. The authors note that the pattern was "massively reproduced" to the extent that "many collectors of old glass shy away from the pattern".
If you believe it to be original Northwood, you might find it useful to get it authenticated by CMoG or WVMAG, not forgetting that WVMAG is completely privately funded, so a contribution to their costs in processing your request would be considerate and warmly welcomed.

The Jefferson Buttons and Braids tumbler is a blown piece, while the Fenton Buttons and Braids tumbler is pressed; the one in the photo appears to be a blown piece, judging by the thickness of the glass at the rim.
I've seen a very few Northwood Daisy and Fern tumblers that have the Northwood N in circle on the outside bottom. Look closely to see if it might be there.
