Just helped the Aged by £6 , stunning quality lump 12 inches 3 kg , thick clear crystal with 3 amethyst stripes.
It feels 'Czech' to me. may only be 10 20 30 years old, but superb quality.
I can see it in a good department store for 3 figures,
Its found a new home, not sure which shelf yet :-\
Clear polished base, few scratches.
Any ideas? Origin ? Anyone seen similar?
Cheers
Andy

Looks a bit like Max Verboeket for Maastricht.

Nice try Max (and what a pleasure to see you here again!) and it is really close - but any Verboeket in this size would have been signed and the colour is just not right. I'd sooner look in the direction of Poland (always a good bet for heavy glass).

Max, Maastricht was my 2nd favourite, its quite similar to Verboekets larger pieces , i didnt think it
was probably old enough, and as Ivo says, would have been signed.
I think central Europe (not eastern , i remember the recent discussion ;D ) is most likely,
i know Poland supplies the likes of John Lewis and Debenhams, i think its too good for Homebase.
I will have a dig around. Its a classy contemporary lump and definitely a keeper ;D
Thanks u2
Andy
Edit, just found this unhappy news,

I maybe should have mentioned, the 2 other vases in the added photo 3 posts up,
are both signed Maastricht, even more similar to Ivos.
I had a look at John Lewis, Debenhams, Heals, lovely glass, much Polish nothing similar, chacked
LSA and Krosno, nothing ,
Ivo, any ideas of a maker??
;D
