Title: Stemmed sphere with pushed in sides
Post by: Anne E.B. on March 30, 2010, 03:21:42 PM
Any ideas where it could have been made please?  It reminds me of a Christmas bauble with its pushed in sides which meet in the centre, but with a stem (hollow and made in one piece)  :-X  7½" high and only 75g in weight.
TIA

Hi Anne,
I´m rather sure it´s been produced in the Lauscha region of Thuringia. They also produce
any kind of christmas decoration there, so your association´s quite founded.

Hi Anne

I have two of these (just the middle round bauble bit) made as Christmas baubles - I am pretty sure they are the same.  I would think that your ornament is a Christmas ornament or meant to replace the 'rocket' as a tree decoration.
I think they are beautiful.
