Title: How to describe final Salviati Murano bowl, different in decoration from others
Post by: northernridge on March 31, 2010, 05:57:59 PM
Here's the last of these Venetian finger bowls. As you can see, it's identical in shape as the others I showed here. So I assume it too is a documented piece by Salviati?

But the decoration is so different! As well as lovely, to my eye. The inside of the bowl is aglow with aventurine. You can see aventurine from the outside too, but it's spattered with white. And the saucer, or underplate/liner, is the opposite.

Thank you in advance!

Your description of it sounds just right to me. It is exactly how I would describe it.

Thank you, Anita. I just wish I had a keyword to fill in for "Latticino," as I used with the others!
