Title: Original Slap-Chop...(1945?)....lol
Post by: antiquerose123 on April 01, 2010, 05:34:05 AM
Hi - We all see on the news advertising a glass chopper called Slap chop -- Well here is an vintage design of that same idea.  It has a turquoise top, and a thing to slap down to chop up the item below in the glass.  It also has a little whitish colored white cutting (removable) wood board on the bottom.  On the bottom it looks like it says:  FEDERAL HOUSEWARES CHICAGO 45 ILLINOIS

Would 45 be the date made?  ( I assume maybe...)

As for the *new* Slap Chop ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUbWjIKxrrs&feature=related ) what is so new about it when the *idea* been around since I was a kid with these types of items.

I guess just a New Generation for this idea... :24: and sales Gimmick.  I still use MY old item here at home...and still works Great :spls2:

The 45 is a pre zip codes mail zone. My wife thinks your item dates from the 1950s. Bob

My mother had one of those, but where does the glass come in? Her clear portion was plastic.
