Purchased this lovely 7" vase last week it intrigues me to find out where it might have originated from! has a very nicely polished pontil and a fair amount of wear to base the rim has been clumped up similar to some czech flower type rims i dout its czech maybe someone else may know. The base is very heavy for a small vase the piece has three main sides which gives the lovely two colour design a real depth it starts very deep colour at the base to the top. I wonder is this whats called cased or more like the sommerso technique used by murano firms? :pb:

very similar to some of the whitefriars Molar vases..?

Id not considered british i was thinking scandi but a bit said murano but its got a pontil?? WHITEFRIARS i have a look on wf collectors ?? thanks :hiclp:

Im pretty sure its not Whitefriars ,99%, im sure one of the collectors will confirm ;D

I'd go for 70s Murano. They used to put this kind of finished pontil on some pieces.

Definitely not Whitefriars, wrong colour, wrong shape.

Thanks folks! I have seen the odd large triangular vase in antique centre's on my travels but never with a finished pontil in fact ive never seen a pontil on a murano vase b4 just goes to show you always learn with glass. I set my heart on it being a scandinavian piece maybe a little hopefull more than anything! It does have a very nice feel weight look etc maybe we could put poss murano in title if the consensus stays with murano pls thanks all.
