Title: Are these Uranium glass Candlesticks Bagley?
Post by: Fen on April 04, 2010, 09:21:22 AM
I was very surprised when I found that these candlesticks glowed under UV light as I didn't think they were Uranium glass when I bought them this morning at a car boot sale. I did hope that they might be Bagley. What do you more knowledgeable people think? Many thanks for your generosity in sharing your expertise.

Not Bagley, the shade of green is wrong. Perhaps Sowerby. What size are they? I'll look in the catalogues

They are seven inches high with a four inch base. Thank you so much for looking up Sowerby for me.

Can't see them in the catalogues I've got (Sowerby CDs 1-3, Thistlewood), but that doesn't rule Sowerby out. Czechoslovakia is another possibility. Either way probably 1930s/40s.
