Post by: kieran on April 05, 2010, 12:26:59 PM
4 1/2 inches high,  3 1/4 inches wide
was wondering if this was an early mtarfa
its not signed and ive never seen these labels before
would never have guessed it was mtarfa if not for the labels
any info appreciated
thanks

Got a piece of signed Mdina with similar strapping, don't know if that means yours is Mdina as well

Keith,
the label on the base is a good clue  ;)
I think all the Maltese companies copied, no, influenced , each others styles and patterns.

Looking at the piece and not the labels I'd say it was Mtarfa. The labels just confirm it, but I don't take much notice of Mtarfa so don't know if these labels are widely used or not.
