Title: DAUM NANCY FRANCE significance of LA MARQUISE DE SEVIGNE
Post by: POWELLGLASS on April 06, 2010, 08:57:47 PM
I have a cut bowl signed DAUM (cross of Lorraine) NANCY FRANCE  (All capitals).  What is the significance of the words LA MARQUISE DA SEVIGNE after the signature?  The bottom of the bowl is too scratched to photo.

It should be la Marquise de Sévigné, note the de not da. It seems to be quite a common mark  if you Google it with Daum and it is in the Glass-Marken Lexikon
