Title: Stunning Art Deco opalecent lady figure never seen before.
Post by: oyemicanto on April 08, 2010, 03:52:43 PM
Hello again
I purchased this lovely opalescent lady figure at Lincoln fair on Tuesday. She came in an opalescent Reich bowl and a blue figure holder which I am quite sure do not go with her.
There are no marks/signitures that I can see.
If anyone has any info I would really appreciate any input please.
Thanks all
Nige

Hi
I was wondering if this piece could possibly be S.Reich as it is similar to their oplaescent pieces?
Many thanks for your time

Sabino?

I don't think it's Sabino, despite it being very much in their style - I can't find it in Ph. Decelle's Catalogue Raisonne - I'd also say the modelling of the face isn't quite good enough for Sabino.

Hi
I agree the opalescence is similar to Sabinos' ladies but like you said the face isn't quite to the standard of Sabino. In a way she is a bit plain in the face, they gave her a fantastic voluptuous figure and didn't seem to give much detail to the face.
I have seen the opalescent Reich lady that holds flowers and noticed a similar thick opal fire.
Thanks for both inputs so far!
